About us

Freshwater Biotopes is a non-profit association registered in Denmark in the Central Business Register (CVR) with No. 32219403

During a trip to Morelia in Mexico, November 2006, Rune Evjeberg and Kai Qvist decided to start a non-profit project, now known as Freshwater Biotopes. The main idea is to write books about freshwater biotopes, instead of just focusing on the individual species found in different biotopes.

The first book - A selection of Freshwater fish biotopes in Mexico 1 -  is a reality, and plans for a second book from Mexico has already started. Check out our webshop for more information.

Our purpose is to support local projects around the world, at the moment AquaLab at the University of Michoacan in Morelia, but other projects may be a part of our non-profit project.
